Thanks for visiting leolazarus.com.  Leo Lazarus, originally from Jackson, MS,  is a Memphis-based singer-songwriter with influences including Toad the Wet Sprocket, Glen Phillips, Third Eye Blind, Oasis and even Matchbox Twenty.  Leo debut CD entitled "Someplace More Extraordinary" is available now on Key Pinch Records.  Click here to order.

Leo began playing guitar around 1980 and wrote his first song, "The Echo," in 1990.   However, Leo didn't write his second song until 1998.  Since that time, he has written over 30 original songs.  This new collection of songs will provide the primary source of material for the CD.

Leo began performing around Memphis in July 2000, beginning at the High Point Pinch open mic.  Leo performed practically every Wednesday for over a year before landing his current full-time show at The Flying Saucer on Tuesday nights.  Leo began the Tuesday night gig on October 9th, 2001 and has missed only one Tuesday night show in over five years.  Leo has also performed around Memphis at various locations including all four T.J. Mulligan's, The Hi-Tone, Newby's, Neil's, The North End, Willie Moffat's, The Bottom Line, The Tap Room, Kudzu's, The Field, and a few other great spots that we can't remember.  Leo has also performed at the world famous acoustic venue "Eddie's Attic" in Atlanta, GA.

Leo uses a 1999 Taylor 814ce and a Takamine EG-334RC for live performances and a 1998 Martin SPD16T special edition acoustic for writing and studio recording.
